Overall A Solid Choice Evenflo PortAbout 5 Infant

This was the first infant seat we owned. We chose it because we received two additional bases as a hand-me-down. And overall it was a good seat.

What did we like? The ability to change the orientation of the handle one-handed was wonderful. I don’t think I really appreciated that until we recently switched to a infant seat with child number two, and I realized I very much missed this feature. I also missed the ergonomic style handle. While nothing will be painless for a heavy baby (and ours is tipping the scales over 17 pounds at just 4 months) it is more comfortable than the traditional grip.

Jack says GO SOONERS! with Britax Roundabout Britax Roundabout University of Oklahoma Convertible Car Seat

We started with EX Travel system. Consumer Reports released a scary and inaccurate review of car seats and the failed miserably in my opinion. Even though the speeds in the study were incorrect, I felt the implications were important and did not feel comfortable leaving Jack in the . So we searched for a better car seat and decided upon the Roundabout. In my search I discovered it was available in a beautiful red with OU Sooners embroidered on the head part. For a former Sooner, this was heaven!

Riding In Style… Maybe Cosco Touriva 02019 Convertible Car Seat

At Monster’s nine month well baby check up, we discovered that he had outgrown his infant carrier type seat by two pounds. It’s not easy having virtually no time to shop around for car seats. We ended up having to wait a month (an entire month of lugging the Alpha Omega from my car to hubby’s car to my mom’s truck- not fun!) before we bought a new seat. We purchased the Touriva because the price was right, it matched the gold interior of my station wagon, and we were happy over all with products.

Easytouse Carseat Graco ComfortSport Overhead Shield 8438 Convertible Car Seat

We originally started out with a 5-point carseat but quickly decided it was so pesky having to get all the straps in place, slip the buckle together in order to snap it, and make sure everything was adjusted right, plus, the straps kept wanting to get tangled and twisted. Well, our friends were using this seat for their baby and I REALLY liked how easy it was to put baby in and out so we went out and bought one. For the most part, we like it, HOWEVER, when pulling the shield down, we learned VERY QUICKLY to double check for hands and fingers!!! Make sure everything is tucked out of the way or you could risk doing some serious harm to their little hands. Luckily, my baby just had a little skin wound from the pressure the plastic placed when his fingers were pinched between the shield and the cloth seat, but I can only imagine how dangerous this can be without proper attention when bucking baby in.

Very bad "carseat" Cosco Tote ‘n Go 93900 Booster Car Seat

When my husband and I were planning a move across the country with very limited space, we thought that the 5-Point Travel Vest was a wonderful idea. It was a five point harness and the box said that it met or exceeded all requirements for a car seat. So we bought it, took it home and tried it out. It kept four adults busy for almost an hour to put it in the car. When we finally figured out the array of tangled straps, and buckles that keep moving from where they are supposed to be, and managed to get the vest installed, the bottom was very loose. In fact, you could pull the bottom of the vest away from the seat and lay the vest flat while it was still buckled up. It is also very difficult to get a child strapped in to this vest. Especially wiggly two-year-olds. We never used this seat for our 2 year old son, and never will consider anything like this again. This product should be taken off shelves everywhere!
