Great car seat!!! Combi Tyro 8001 Crimson Infant Car Seat

I purchased the Ultra Savvy stroller and was happy with the purchase, so I decided to try their Tyro 8000 carseat. I am very pleased with my purchase.

So far I have been toting my daughter around in it every day for the last 8 months and it looks just like it did the day I took it out of the box. There is not one ounce of noticable wear on the seat itself or the fabric. I have had to take apart the carseat to wash the fabric due to some accidents, but in all the washings and reassemblings, it looks as good as new. It is easy to take apart and to put back together.

Britax Gives the Husky a New Name the Britax Regent Britax Regent Sahara Booster Car Seat

It was time once again for the car seat shuffle. Our once beloved Triumph had met an early demise and had to be replaced immediately. Since our 4 1/2 old daughter was about to outgrow her Marathon it only made sense to pass that down to The Little Guy and purchase Bugs a new Regent

Keep your special child safe in the Britax Husky (5 point harness to 80 pounds!) Britax Husky Marina Youth Car Seat

For quite a while I’d been interested in getting the Husky seat for my 3 1/2 year old son. However, his current seat- the Platinum CarGo 8489 Booster Seat, was suiting us just fine for now. Since he is under the 40 pound weight limit we were still able to use it with the 5 point harness system. However, knowing full well that he was nearing the weight limit for the 5 point harness, and that this seat is not recommended as a booster seat (it has closed loop guides which hinder seatbelt retraction), and that quite honestly my son is not ready for a booster seat [read my horror story here when we tried the TurboBooster 8493]- I was looking at other options to keep him in a 5 point harness longer. Then, Bamm - I was forced to make a decision and replace our seat immediately. Reason? I was in an automobile accident and all seats must be replaced after an accident.

Comfy yet cumbersome Combi Victoria 8850 Manchester Convertible Car Seat

Based on my former location and availability/cost of carseats I decided to buy the carseat for my first child. Good buy. When we had the second child I went back to all the car seat reviews all over again. Of course the always comes out ahead but I have a stroller that is great. I loved the extra cushioning. The wide base so that the little ones could fold up their legs. It comes with infant support. I think the are too expensive for what they are so I went with this one, which is half the price.

It was very easy to install rear-facing, fully reclined. My child fit in well at 8lbs coming home from the hospital. When he got to be 20lbs I needed to move him forward facing so that I could easily move him in an out. It says all over this carseat that they need to be 20lbs and 1 year to go forward facing. Well he turned 1 year last week so now we are following the rules but I think all new carseats have changed to that anyway.

But then there came the time when I had to take the seat apart to throw the cushions in the wash and take out the bottom infant cushion. What a pain. The base does not detach like they say. You have to take the seat out, fully recline in, fit your hand behind the seat, take out a shield, rotate the belt clip and detach the belts to slip then out. Ok, so that was hard enough, wait till you have to get that all back in. Serious pain. You have to do all this with to adjust the strp positioning too! Also it is a good thing that I don’t have to do as much air travel as I did with the first one. I would not want to lug this heavy sucker around.

So it is a great carseat for durability and comfort but just hope that you don’t have to adjust the straps, clean it or transport it.
