My husband and I decided to purchase this car seat in lieu of the infant carrier car seats because we figured that our boys (7 month old twins) wouldn’t grow out of them as quickly. It made perfect sense to us - a car seat that they would use until they no longer need one. Upon purchasing the carseat, we were very satisfied with the overall construction. It seemed sturdy and it was easy to remove and wash the cover. We quickly began noticing minor gliches in the design. First of all, it is more than difficult to buckle the car seat in if you don’t have a LATCH capable vehicle. The opening where you slide the belt through is so tiny that my hand could barely maneuver and my husband didn’t stand a chance! Secondly, even though the car seat says that you can put a 6lb. baby in it, I wouldn’t recommend it. My boys chins went straight to their chests the first time we put them in - weighing in at a little over 6 lbs. The child really needs to have better control over their neck before moving to this seat. In the end, we took these car seats back and traded them for the (less expensive) carriers that mount into the double stroller. I guess you win some, you lose some.

We were looking for a reasonably priced car seat with good reviews, as well as a car seat that could grow with our child. The Eddie Bauer Deluxe Convertible car seat will fit a child 5 lbs to 100 lbs. Plus, I really like a couple great extra features like the arm rests and cup holders.

We decided to purchase one for each car. We have been using the seat for 3 weeks now and I am feeling like we should have decided on another car seat.

I read the other reviews, where all the overhead shields have snapped, and checked my seat as well. Surprise! I’ve got a violently torn piece of plastic, and an odd little spring hanging from the place the arm of the sheild attaches to the body.

I bought it originally because I believed Eddie Bauer was a safer, better brand (stupidly) since it was so expensive. I really liked the rugged colors and threadwork (I HATE pastels– ugh). I also liked not having to buckle anything. I just snapped the top shield part in. Since it was rated for newborn-30 pounds, I thought it was a somewhat reasonable price. The harness wasn’t a five-point, but I didn’t realize how important that can be. (Maybe publicity on 5 point harnesses is much more widespread now? I don’t know. I don’t think I’d ever heard of one until last year)

I bought this carseat for my daughter when she was about 14 months old. (Her previous seat was an Evenflo overhead shield and I didn’t like it due to the safety concerns of the overhead shield.) She weighed about 25 lbs at the time. She liked the seat right away, especially the cup holder. She has used the seat for nearly 3 years now and she’s never complained about sitting in it. She now weighs about 30 lbs and is almost 4 years old. I expect her to stay in the seat for at least another year or two since she doesn’t meet the weight requirement for being in a regular booster yet. I will likely buy another of these seats for her brother when he is over a year old and ready to be turned forward facing.

I loved this infant car seat it is a great buy and has extremely good quality. Also with a name you can always trust especially with something so precious. I bought this and have loved it the only thing I have to complain about is that my daughter sleeps better in her car seat than she does in her bed. The Eddie Bauer 22-625-BLD comes with a 5 point harness system for ultimate safety and protection with shock absorbing foam if you did happen to have the unfortunate event of being involved in an accident you know your child is fully protected. The locking system (where you harness your child in) is really great and is fully adjustable so you know you have your child safely buckled in. I have the base that goes with this as I mentioned before and it makes it a whole lot easier I know you can buy one seperately that way you don’t have to deal with the hassle of bending over and pulling the seatbelt over the carseat everytime because if you are like me you are usually running late and you would just prefer not to have to spend 15 minutes trying to get the seatbelt around and than worrying if you did it right, the base allows you to be able to put the seat right on top of it and it locks in place and you are done! This is an awesome buy by a company you can trust. I love this carseat and I would recommend it to anyone and have always recommended it to my friends and family and at this price who wouldn’t buy it.

When I bought this car seat I thought it would be good considering everything else I have that is Eddie Bauer is good. I was wrong; the crotch strap is way too short , I have no idea how this seat could go up to 100 pounds. I have a chunky baby. It took forever to install and I could never get it secure even trying several times. I even had my husband try and install it and he could not get it secure either. We finally tried rolling up a towel to get it positioned well and with putting all my weight on it and buckling it in it still moved way too much. Safety is my main concern and to me it just did not seem safe. It was very frustrating. I am surprised Eddie Bauer put their on this seat. Also, if you are not using the latch system the hard ware I would not purchase this seat as it seems really flimsy and for the quality it is quite expensive. The only positive thing I can think of is that the car seat looks very nice compared too many others out there. I took it back after the second day and bought a Britax Boulevard.

We chose this car seat for our registry because it could be used for infants to bigger kids. We liked the idea of it because we didn’t have to buy an infant seat and then a toddler seat and then a booster seat. Our daughter is 6mths and she’s at the 97 percentile for height and weight; so, we had to move her into this seat at 4 months. My husband had a difficult time getting the seat into the car the first time (rear facing since our daughter is less than a year old). The latches are a pain, but once you get practice on them, they become easier.

For quite a while I’d been interested in getting the Britax Husky seat for my 3 1/2 year old son. However, his current seat- the Graco Platinum CarGo 8489 Booster Seat, was suiting us just fine for now. Since he is under the 40 pound weight limit we were still able to use it with the 5 point harness system. However, knowing full well that he was nearing the weight limit for the 5 point harness, and that this seat is not recommended as a booster seat (it has closed loop guides which hinder seatbelt retraction), and that quite honestly my son is not ready for a booster seat [read my horror story here when we tried the Graco TurboBooster 8493]- I was looking at other options to keep him in a 5 point harness longer. Then, Bamm - I was forced to make a decision and replace our seat immediately. Reason? I was in an automobile accident and all seats must be replaced after an accident.
